If you enjoy working on open source software, Open System Solutions (OSS) would like to have a word with you.
Dependable self-starters are sought for an opportunity to work with the Central Systems and Services group in Rutgers University's Office of Information Technology.
- Willingness to work in a Linux/UNIX-friendly environment.
- Linux/UNIX experience a must
- Linux/UNIX sysadmin experience a BIG plus
- ( Linux skills desired, Solaris doesn't hurt )
- Programming ability a must (at least one of the below)
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Ruby, etc)
- Systems languages (C, C++, etc)
- Shell scripting (*sh, etc)
- Web skills desirable (CSS, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, etc)
- Mobile development (iOS, Android, etc)
- Java does not impress us
- Software packaging experience (rpm) is helpful, but not required
- Database experience very beneficial
- 12-20 hours/week during the semester, 20-30 hours/week during the summer
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- People who will be around Rutgers for at least the next two years.
Pay is based on experience and ability.
Flexible hours. Training provided. Located in the Hill Center on Busch Campus.
